Why can two website quotes be so different?The total rarely tells you whether the work is comparable.
The quotes may include different amounts of planning, writing, design, accessibility work, search setup, hosting, support or ownership. Compare what is included and what happens after launch, not only the total at the bottom.

Can you help me make sense of a large website quote or SEO proposal?A second look should start with the scope, not a snap judgement.
Yes. I will not call a quote good or bad from the total alone. I can help you identify what is included, what problem the proposal is meant to solve and which questions to ask before you commit. If a detailed review would be paid work, I will explain that first.
Do I need SEO because another company says I do?A sales call does not diagnose your business.
Not automatically. SEO covers many different activities, and a sales call does not prove which one your business needs. The sensible first step is to check whether the problem is discovery, unclear information, trust, the website itself or something smaller.

Can you help with Google Search Console if I do not understand it?You do not need to know what every warning means.
Yes. You do not need to understand the technical labels before asking. Search Console can show useful information, warnings and changes, but not every message means something is badly wrong. I can explain what matters, what can wait and what needs checking elsewhere.

Does my existing website need fixing or rebuilding?A rebuild is not the automatic answer.
A rebuild is not assumed. Sometimes the useful answer is a focused repair, clearer wording, better contact information or work on Google rather than a new site. The recommendation depends on what is wrong, what can be kept and what the business needs the site to do.
How do I know a new website will work?Look for a clear purpose, checks and honest limits.
No honest provider can guarantee enquiries, sales or a Google position. Risk is reduced by agreeing what the website needs to do, planning it around real customer questions, checking accessibility and contact routes, and measuring what happens after launch where useful.
Will I own my website and be able to move it later?Check control, access and exit terms before work starts.
Local Roots registers managed domains in the client's name, provides website access and does not charge a transfer fee for leaving. Some third-party software and licensed material remain subject to their own terms. The quote and Terms explain what applies to the project.
Am I tied into monthly support?Ongoing help is optional.
No. Ongoing support is optional and can be cancelled at any time. It continues through the period already paid for, and there is no transfer fee if you decide to move the website elsewhere.
What if I cannot explain the problem properly?A short, ordinary sentence is enough.
A sentence is enough. You can say that you need a website, Search Console is confusing you, the current site needs fixing or you want a quote checked. You do not need a technical brief, and I can ask the next useful question.
